Covent Garden – Art Competition 2027

ARTIST BRIEF
MAKE SOME NOISE
Turner made waves. Now it’s your turn to add your own note
Turner’s world was not only about paint and light. Music was a recurring presence in his life and work. More than two centuries later, music fills The Porterhouse, with live bands playing every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. From Turner’s fascination with the relationship between music and painting to the live music of today, the dialogue between art and sound continues. We’re asking the artist in you to make some noise…
We are launching the second J.M.W. Turner Art Competition, with The Porterhouse Bar, Turner’s birthplace on Maiden Lane, and The Turner Society.
This year’s brief: create an original work inspired by the sounds of Covent Garden. Paint it, draw it, photograph it, print it, make it loud.
