Until 5 July 2020
Old Vic Theatre, Until 28 March Daniel Radcliffe and Alan Cumming star in this revival of Samuel Beckett’s play. Theatre audiences are divided when it comes to Beckett. For some he is the bilingual, literary genius and master of absurdity whose plays offer a sharp, funny commentary on real life. For many he is the epitome of existential pretension, and they find his plays boring and meaningless.
If you are in the former group then this is a rare opportunity to see a wonderful cast under the direction of one of the superstars of modern British opera and theatre. If you are in the latter, then this might not be for you. Audiences and critics, predictably, have been divided.
