Running The Covent Gardener is Not Always Smooth Sailing
Only a few hurdles left now…
Running The Covent Gardener hasn’t always been smooth sailing, there have been more than a few challenges to face! Finding out that every copy of Issue 5 had been dumped in a park in Birmingham by a delivery guy (who was obviously having a bad day) was an interesting one. A good Samaritan messaged via Instagram, then drove all the way to deliver them back to me, restoring my faith in humanity and the printing process.
Then there was the time 15,000 magazines were dropped off on Maiden Lane. The delivery of Issue 7 had at least made it to me this time. However, the delivery guy had come alone and was over 80. This left me to rally the troops to unblock the road and deliver them up five floors to my flat. A call out on Instagram was answered by the heroic Annika Vallgren, it took us 4 hours and we were certainly more entertaining on that day than Kinky Boots at the Adelphi Theatre.
I mention these stories as I know we’re still not out of the woods yet and there are challenges ahead for all of us BUT April is getting closer and after this weekend I feel hope for the first time in a while.
