Speckled Grey Cobbles in The Piazza, Covent Garden

Did you know: the cobbles around The Piazza go in a different direction… something I just noticed! Without all the foot traffic, the boundary line along the cobbles is clear to see. The inner “ring” or strip of land around the Market building is private land forming part of the Market. The outer strip was a road way covered in tarmac surface during the 60s & 70s (connecting Russell St., Southampton St., Henrietta St., James Streets etc.) where delivery vehicles used to service the Market!
