WELCOME TO ISSUE 28…

Finally, spring has arrived. Managing how we live has never been more important, which is why this issue is dedicated to HOME. It is also one of the reasons I recently became a Trustee of Covent Garden, proud to stand alongside a dedicated team working to keep Covent Garden a special place.

Let’s start with our adorable cover and talented cover artist, Geffen Refaeli, who has just moved to London from Tel Aviv. I immediately fell in love with her charming & quirky style and think she has captured the essence of Covent Garden perfectly. Did you notice the baby rhino with her Benjamin Pollock’s Toyshop goodie bag?

Moving away from the Market Building, we look at how and why theatres are designed with theatre historian Mark Fox: ever thought why the carpets have a certain pattern, why the seats are a particular colour or what the symbolism of the figures supporting the box fronts might be? Mark explains all…
Mick O’Hare compares Charles III’s pared down coronation to William IV’s innate dislike of pomp, and Lucy Moore reports back on the past and present of homelessness.

Look out for the competitions and their prizes, fill in the crosswords, and if you’re intrigued to know what I’m doing in the Jack Barclay Bentley showroom with a motley crew of 6–11 year-olds, you’ll have to pick up a copy of The Mayfarer. An afternoon no-one is going to forget in a hurry, especially the Jack Barclay team.

In all our magazines we commission unique content, no matter how big or small, and all the illustrations are commissioned by us.

We are incredibly passionate about print and our beautifully curated independent publications. Please continue to spread the word, buy subscriptions for your friends and family, and of course follow us…
